The field of dental sleep medicine is rapidly growing. Around 20% of patients in a dental practice have undiagnosed sleep apnea. Dentists are in an excellent position to help treat this epidemic although many dentists have problems with the obstacles dental sleep medicine entails. The struggles that dentists go through when implementing sleep apnea treatment frequently overwhelm dentists into evading pursuit of dental sleep medicine. With the correct protocols in place, dental sleep medicine can be implemented into any dental practice. Dr. Elliott will share her experiences implementing sleep and how she has achieved success in her practice.

About Dr. Erin Elliott

Dr. Erin Elliott was born and raised in Southern California. She played soccer at Houghton College, a small Christian college in Western New York. She attended dental school at Creighton University in Omaha, NE where she graduated in the top 5 of her class.

Dr. Elliott is committed to attending continuing education classes and is active in the local and state dental organizations and societies. She has a special interest in screening and treating snoring and sleep apnea. In addition, she has authored several articles in national dental journals and lectures extensively. She is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and diplomate and past president of the American Sleep and Breathing Academy.
