UARS - Why These Patients Should Always be Treated

Upper Airway Resistance Syndrome or UARS is a common sleep disorder characterized by the narrowing of the airway that can cause disruptions to sleep. Diagnosis is difficult as pauses and decreases in breathing that are present in OSA (Obstructive Sleep Apnea) patients are most times not present with UARS. UARS is often overlooked and often times goes untreated. It is important to note that UARS may eventually progress to OSA if left untreated. Dr. Tucker will review the signs and symptoms of UARS and the importance of treating UARS patients.
